Festival fever

It starts with hot temperatures, followed by summer, sun, great company, music … All the right ingredients are in place for the festival fever. And next Saturday it’s Conincx Pop Festival, the 30th edition of this great free boutique festival, with an alternative program of 9 bands from 7 countries, and a great atmosphere. We do the bookings for the 10th time already.

Yes, I’m really looking forward to it. Finally I’ll meet all the artists playing there, that I’ve had contact with only by phone and e-mail in the last couple of month. Most of the paperwork is done, so I’ll go to enjoy myself. Most of the artists enjoy themselves there too! That’s what the festival fever is about: the adrenaline of great music, great company and pure joy (and alcohol).

But how to enjoy yourself if you are ‘famous’, and therefore suspicious against everyone approaching you, afraid that no one wants to get to know you, for they all have this public image of you in their head? Or even worse: some of them want to get to know you how you really are, so you would have to put the mask of your public image aside?

“Fame means millions of people have the wrong idea of who you are.” (Erica Jong)

This way fame can act like a cage. The festival fever can help to loosen up. All you have to do is to put aside your worries, remember how it was in the past, let the adrenaline kick in, and enjoy what it’s all about: great company, music, summer, sun, life …
